It's for the Birds!

Here you will find a compilation of historical bird sightings for the state of Georgia. The purpose of this project is to integrate into one cohesive unit information that is now available only by searching through a variety of  scattered sources as well as data that has heretofore been unavailable to the birding public. I hope that the resultant database will broaden our general knowledge of bird distribution patterns in Georgia and serve as a useful tool for natural resource managers, conservationists, authors - and birders!

Data sources for a given county may  include personal observations from a variety of contributors, banding records, Christmas Bird Count data, Breeding Bird Surveys, the Georgia Breeding Bird Atlas project, and others. I solicit your contributions as well. Input from Georgia birders who have records for a given county is welcome. If you have observations not listed here and are willing to share that information, please contact me via e-mail at ecurlew@comcast.net.
